Foreword by Sir Liam Donaldson in upcoming Developmedica publication

Sir Liam Donaldson, the Chief Medical Officer of England, has kindly contributed a foreword to our upcoming book, ‘Clinical Audit for Doctors’, which is due for release in November. A sneak preview of his foreword is below:

‘Audit is a valuable tool to drive quality improvement and decrease the variation between organisations’ performance against quality criteria. The process of examining current practice, then making changes and looking for evidence of improvement, is at the heart of this. Done frequently and well, clinical audit has the potential to transform services for patients, resulting in a significant positive shift in the quality of health organisations. To deliver excellent care, we must guard against audit becoming simply an obligation to progress through training or satisfy clinical governance boards.’

Clinical Audit for Doctors has been written to provide readers with the knowledge and skills required on how to become involved with and conduct effective clinical audit as part of maintaining clinical excellence.
